Skegby Judo Club will be closed on Thursday 15th, 22nd & 29th October.

Sam & Tenisha's North West Gold

Sam Watson & Tenisha Parnham struck gold in the North West Area Open Championships in Leigh, on Sunday 11th October.

 

Tenisha At The Budokwai

Tenisha Parnham travelled down to London on Sunday 27th September for a Dan Grading held at the Budokwai. With a low turn out Tenisha managed to get another 10pts towards her dan grade.

Attendance Milestones (September)

Two of the Club's judokas achieved attendance milestones in September.

Malaki Parnham completed his 250th session on Thursday 24th September, and Ana Stanculescu her 200th session on Friday 18th September.

Malaki started the Club in March 2018 after taking part in an after school club at brierly Forest Primary School. Malaki is currently a 1st (kyu brown belt) with 80pts towards his 1st Dan (black belt). He is also working towards his BJA Level 1 coach award, just needing to complete his first aid and safeguarding training.

Ana started the Club in September 2019, she is a 7th Mon (orange belt +1 tag).

Parnham's Double Silver

Malaki & Tensiha both collected silver medals in the Nottingham Cadet and Senior Open Championships in Bilborough on Sunday 20th September.

Tenisha had a best of 3 in the Ladies High Grades winning 1 contest by Ippon therefore securing 10pts towards her dan grade.

Malaki fought in the Mens High Grades winning four of his five contests, achieving 40pts towards his dan grade.

 

Double BJC Gold

Cole Smith and Tyler Robinson both struck gold in the BJC Regional Championships (East Midlands) in Rainworth on Saturday 19th September.

 

Nottingham u15 Mini-Mon Open

Tyler Robinson & Cole Smith took part in the Nottingham u15 Mini-Mon Open in Bilborough on Sunday 19th July, and both came away with silver medals.

 

West of England International Open

Sam Watson kept up his fine run by claiming a silver medal at the West of England International Open in Bath, on Saturday 18th July.

 

Attendance Milestones (July)

Three of the Club's judokas achieved attendance milestones on Thursday 16th July

Edward Bunduc completed his 100th training session while Miles Dudley and Tyler Robinson their 50th.

Edward started the Club in May 2024 and is a 5th Sho (white belt + blue stripe). Miles & Tyler started the Club in June 2025 and they are both 2nd Mon (red belt + 2 tags).

Midland Area Senior Open

Sam Watson & Tenisha Parnham travelled to Walsall on Sunday 5th July for the Midland Area Senior Open. Competing for the first time since COVID Sam struck gold in the u60kg category, while Tenisha claimed a bronze and 20pts toward her 1st Dan in the u52kg category.

 

AJA East Midlands Championships

Four of the Clubs judokas travelled to Lincoln for the AJA East Midlands Junior & Senior, Low & Open Grade Championships on Sunday 5th July. They came home with 4 gold 2 silver & 1 bronze medal.

 

Malaki Completes Coach Award Training

Malaki Parham completed his BJA Level 1 Coach Award training in York on Sunday 5th July. He just needs to obtain his Safeguarding and First Aid certificates.

Club Grading (July)

Six of the Club's judokas gained new promotions at a Club Grading held at Skegby Judo Club on Sunday 5th July.

 

Safeguarding Training

Club Coaches, Steve Wilkins and Sam Watson have both completed an Online UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course in June as part of their coach revalidation.

BJA Level 1 Coaching Course

On Sunday 7th June, Malaki Parnham travelled to York for the first part of a BJA Level 1 coaching course.

Attendance Milestones

Three of the Club's judokas achieved attendance milestones on Thursday 4th June.

Hannah Knights completed her 200th training session, Jacob Eadson his 100th and Max Dudley his 50th.

Hannah started the Club in September 2019 after taking part in after school sessions at Sutton Road Primary School in Mansfield. She is currently a 9th Mon (orange belt +3 tags)

Jacob started the Club in June 2023 and he is a 5th Mon (yellow belt +2 tags). Max started the Club in January 2017 and he is currently a 3rd Mon (red belt +3 tags)

Ares Premiership

Club Coach, Sam Watson travelled to High Wycombe on Saturday 30th May for the Ares Premiership Team Event. Sam was part of the Ryecroft Squad that claimed a bronze medal.

 

BJC Low Grade Medals

Miles Dudley and Tyler Robinson travelled to Leicester for the BJC Leicestershire & Northants Low Grade Open Championships on Saturday 16th May, and they both returned with medals.

 

BJC National Medals

Brother and sister, Malaki and Tenisha Parnham travelled to Kettering on Sunday 3rd May for the BJC Open National Championships. They both came away with deserved medals.

 

Edgewood JC Age & Grade Band Championship

Five of the Club's judokas took part in the Edgewood JC Age & Grade Band Championships held in Bilborough on Sunday 26th April.

 

Nottingham Judo Awards

Eight of the Club's judokas received awards at the re-introduced Nottingham Judo Awards evening held at Mapperley Plains Social Club on Saturday 18th April. (For more photos see Members Area)
